Connecting with Nature
We know that spending time in nature can have a positive impact on our wellbeing.
There's even a formal type of therapeutic treatment called Ecotherapy which involves doing outdoor activities in nature.
Here are some ideas to connect with nature, wherever you are:
Seek out green spaces: Whether you’re in the countryside or in the city, there is nature everywhere.
If you’re in London, check out these parks Regent’s is no 2 😊
Try identifying birds by their song with this free app
Identify the nearest species of tree to your home, by looking at the bark or leaves
Of course, not everyone is lucky enough to have access to a green space so why not try and bring nature to you?
Did you know that even just watching a video of nature for a few minutes can increase your sense of wellbeing? David Attenborough should do the trick
Getting your hands dirty in soil increases Serotonin in the brain (the happy Hormone) and you don't need a garden to benefit: you could try to grow your favourite vegetables from scraps including an avocado tree on your windowsill.
Watch the sunset: grab a moment of solitude, a warm drink and snuggle down to enjoy the show
And of course, don't forget to enter our photography competition showing how you're connecting with nature :)
